Check out the Rennlist classifieds (upper right hand corner of your screen). There are usually nice, well taken care of cars for sale by RL members.

Not sure why you are only looking at 96 and 97 993's, but you should know that in the later part of '97, the 993 came only in the Carrera 'S' model (C2S). The 'S' model is the M491 option-- in other words, a turbo wide body (but with a naturally aspirated engine). These cars tend to command a premium. As do the the 4 wheel drive versions (that is, the C4S).

At your price point, you could definitely get into a really nice, low mileage C2, and with some good hunting and willingness to consider somewhat higher mile cars, possibly a C2S or C4S. If you went up close to or in the 50's you are in the range for a very, very nice, pretty low mileage C2S or C4S.

Here is a pricing chart to give you an idea on pricing for models, miles etc. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=34752

I'm kind of trying to sell my 95 C2.... at least that's what I keep telling myself, but I just always seem to forget to place the ad...... driving a 993 makes you forget how to do certain things when its convenient....

If you get one by April 13th, there is the "Patriot Run" sponsored by the MA PCA Chapter (leaving from Concord I believe and touring battlefields, historic buildings etc. on Porsche friendly roads. (I live in MA too). If you miss that, there is the Porsche Fest at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline in Sept., which is truly a treat for Porsche lovers and owners. Hundreds of Porsches of all types and vintages in a lawn/concours setting.

What is the difference between a c4s and c2s besides the obvious?

Contrary to a previous post in this thread i thought that a c2s would cost more than a c4s.

The C2S as far as I can surmise came with an aluminum shift ball, some pebble grained leather strip on the door panels and dash, aluminum gauge bezel trim, in some instances full leather and a split grille finished in body color. I believe the C4S came with full leather standard.
