As a TV spot director I can be quite critical of other's work; I've directed maybe a hundred car spots, most on 35 millimeter film. I like the new Porsche campaign because it does what much of Porche's advertising has always done ...it somehow always incorporates the essential concept that form follows function, that beauty evolves from a singleminded pursuit of excellence.

Did the :60 sec spot cost $800K in production costs? Probably, but by bringing a few experienced crew from Detriot to LA to set up the 6 night exteriors in LA I see 350K out of pocket for the whole deal.
