Hi,
Some pics from the local dealership of the custom 996 created to advertise the Pixar movie "Cars".
Kids love it, I reckon it has a cute look, but then it is a character, rather than a car....caracature of a car really.
Windows were all solid, so I don't know if it's drivable. Shortened wheelbase and modified roofline, front and rear. Spoiler is fixed in the up position, and included the little "back tatoo" of the movie character, but it is in the wrong place.
I thought it was kinda neat!

C'mon dude, this was a Porsche dealership!!
Actually, Sally was brought out by Porsche New Zealand, so I doubt their interest was actually the film...more getting a few parents through the dealerships!

OK. But my 4 1/2 year old daughter saw the picture and she wanted to know where Lightning and Mater were :-)

Lightning and Mater are at the Petersen in LA (which I stumbled onto last week). Along with a lowrider exhibition, soon to be changed out to micro cars.

I also got a laugh out of Sally's tramp stamp in the movie!

Isn't the Petersen amazing? I was taken there by a fellow car nut when in LA in early Dec. The Lo-Rider exhibit was on then too...not my scene at all, but I could appreciate the work put into them. The previous exhibit had been classic V12 Ferraris...the notice boards were still up for it. Dayam...a month too late.
As for Sally's tat, pic below. As you will see, it's in the wrong place compared to the movie, and not nearly dark enough. The spoiler on the show car is fixed, doesn't fit well and is downright ugly.
