Default Wrong way wagon train - CA to Texas road trip

Hi All,

Steve (CA993twin), Terry Adams and I are contemplating a road trip to Texas. Here are my goals for the trip:

See Tony.
See Adrianne (never met her before)
See Ruf Dallas, and all the Ruf owners there.
Tour Ruf's shop in Dallas.
Drive the private track at Ruf Dallas.
See Patrick, Jonathan, Dan, and other Texas-based Rlisters.
Drive the famous Texas Hill Country.
Taste their BBQ.
Drink Texas beers (?).
Drive a ton of scenic back roads along the way.

There are 2 Rufs and a 997tt in the caravan as of now. If folks interested at both end of the trip wish to join, please feel free to sign up here.

Time-wise, I'm eyeing 3-19-08 through 3-25-08.

Pong -

Be sure to take lots of pictures (Terry is woefully deficient in pictures of his Ruby Red TT ).

Have fun.

Jeff,

How far is it to fly from Michigan to Texas? We have plenty of passenger seats once you touched down.

Remember, I still owe you a few cool ones.

Pong,

Keep us posted. If possible we'll join in for the Hill Country ride. Just let Adrianne plan it-she's THE MASTER.

Could probably round up the usual suspects from San Antonio, too.

That would be so much fun. It's actually about a 4 1/2 hour flight, which we did over Christmas (into Dallas'ish):

Pong,

As I stated before... but it bears repeating... I HAVE met Adrienne... and I have dibs.

Lets get the Rufaholics group in on this, as soon as you have the date.

Lets also let the Ruf Dallas guys know we are coming, so they can lay out the lavish buffet, bring in the dancing girls, and get their free parts and service organized for us.

Steve,

I have Margaret, so you can have sole dibs on Adrianne.

Once I get my kitchen pass, I'll work on you to get the Rufaholics Anonymous Group meet going. I have friends at Ruf Dallas, and C.J. can get us VIP treatment there as well.

I hate to break it to you, Steve, but Keith might have some objections, OFE status or not.

Come on over!! We'll chill the beer and order the BBQ!! We (P-club) are doing a drive Feb 23rd, mostly a repeat from the Rennlist drive in January. What's your timeframe?

Adrianne,

Third week of March, subject to some final details.

Yeeehaaaw!

We will show you a good time for sure!

I have both of my cars serviced at RUF, so they know my wallet well. Great people and amazing cars.

I will definitely see you all in Dallas and hope to make the Hill Country run.

This will be very cool. Hey, car washes for everyone in my driveway for all of you road warriors. (Not you Tony - wash your own. Your driveway is only 10X the size of mine.)

Hey CP,
Never met or chatted with ya, I am somewhat new to this group, kinda/sorta.... But, would love to meet up with some fellow rennlisters in the hill country if you're making it down. Some really nice roads there (well for these parts anyway, nothing like Cali though ). Those turbos will sure come in handy, to cover a lot of ground in short times, in the long flat roads between El Paso and Dallas/San Antonio/Austin. Drive safe & have fun... drop us a line if you make it down here.

Arun
