Help! P1691 Code
Hey all,
I can't get my P-car registered because I can't get it to pass emissions testing. I initially had five trouble codes to deal with after buying the car but got it down to one by changing the MAF sensor. Now I have the P1691 code (Check Engine Malfunction Indication Light (MIL) - Open Circuit) and my wrench so far couldn't find the cause.
I've done my due diligence by searching the threads here but couldn't find anything that we haven't already looked at. The check engine light comes on when the key is in the 'ON' positions so it's not a burned out bulb. My wrench said that he's verified connectivity between the CEL and the ECU so that's not it either.
Has anybody dealt with this issue before? Thanks in advance.
