Default Farewell, Rennlist, I murdered my 993.

I've been licking my wounds and waiting for the right time to come back and visit.

Last June, I went to a driver's event and did a number on my Arena '96 (PM me for details). The damage was just enough that the cost to repair it and the loss to sell it for salvage were pretty close. So, after tough deliberation, I opted to take the cash.

I really loved that car for all of the reasons we all know here. I had just installed a high dollar sound system in it too. In hindsight, I should have joined POC and spent time with instructors. I also should have been familiar with insurance company exclusions.

I let my membership here lapse but if and when I get another P-car (maybe even another 993) I'll be back. I valued the experience and knowledge that can be found here. Thanks, everyone. Enjoy your cars and each other.

It's just a matter of time before you're back.

Almost 1 year ago today my 993 was loaded up on a trailer and carted away to the Greater White North (beers4all, what happened to it??), but now I have an order in on a new made-for-me.

You can't stay away forever, it's just a law of the universe.

Not to hijack, but I'm getting an '08 997 C4S coupe. Build completion should be mid-April. It will be a daily yearround driver, for years upon years. So, I opted to build my own and get exactly what I want.

You can probably guess what color.

Sorry to hear about your crash and hope you weren't hurt. Look forward to seeing you back in a 993 soon!

Good luck to you guys. I do remember reading your threads in the past. Good news is that there are more out there if you want to pull the trigger again. Agreed, the lack of insurance coverage on the track is scary.

Thanks, Terry.

Mike, I thought my avatar was a give away, but admittedly the color name hasn't been used since the 356's. It is Ruby Red, as shown in the picture Terry posted (that's not my car, but close).

That sucks, but financially, you probably made the right decision. Hope you will be back! I hope you removed your speakers and amps!

Jason, hopefully you'll be back. I know somebody that keeps toying with selling a '93 RSA Let me know if you are interested and I can get you his contact info (shameless plug here, R). I wish I would have had the money to buy your car out just to have the spare engine and parts. I know that you know this, but LAPD got a smoking deal on it.

BTW, I saw a March bird in here last week. Curiously, nobody brought me the case of wine that R promised. If you ever roll into town here, look me up. Mythos and tatziki on me at the Sun.
