996s just do not do it for me. Price of admission is cheap on this one..wow...if some wanted to purchase a later model 911 and was not say "a car guy -or- 911 afficianado", you got yourself in for Camry money!

This may be indicative of where the economy is going, not the car itself. The seller was asking 32K and dropped it to 20K. When in a pinch the first things to go are the toys. Is it getting that bad in the US? I guess it's a buyers market and more great deals are ahead.

As much as it goes against the current, I really like these cars...until I sit in them.
Perhaps some pole position seats could make it an attractive proposition.
While so many deride them, I note the common high mileage in comparison to the earlier 911's. Something is there to consider.

Yes, it's getting that bad. Take a visit to FS section on the MB and BMW boards and you will see what a hard time folks are having selling their cars. It's a buyers market for sure.

There are 2 equivalent 996s (99 and 2000) with ~70K miles for sale for the same prices in Houston.
The 996 prices are really going down.
Will they work fine as track cars ?

It's been out there for a while...I bet it’s the miles. You can buy a 02 with a few less miles for about the same original $32K price and get several key upgrades from the 99-01’s.
A smart shopper who thinks that all he could afford is an 86 to 92 911 and lives by the motto buy the newest one…should jump on this deal. They will get so much more car for the money regardless of how you feel about water cooled technology.
