GPS, Sat Nav?
Maybe my search skill are deficient, but I couldn't find pics, and comments about GPS/Sat Nav systems for 993's. Recommendations with pics, anyone?? TIA!

Get a Garmin Nuvi360 plug it in and go. You can take it with you on business trips, vacations in the U.S. and use them in rental wrecks. Maps and Points of Interest are updated regularly and downloadable directly into the unit. It speaks the actual street names when dictating instructions. I've had mine for sometime and have never had to buy a street map again.

Display with a scalable map, not just text.
Text to speech directions.
UI better than Lexus, MB, BMW or my other Porsche.
Portable from one vehicle to another.
Up to 4 hours on a charge.
Built-in antenna - no wiring.

+1 on the Nuvi. You can buy a mount and push it under the top console so it stays in place. Easy to put it in and out. I have my antenna on the rear parcel shelf. Nuvi also has Bluetooth for your phone and traffic updates on the newer models.

[QUOTE=brucec59;5038401]I have a Garmin nuvi 650. Was on sale at Costco for $299 recently. I have a remote antenna on the dash.
+1 on getting one at Costco. They currently have the Nuvi 360 for $249.99 until Feb 10. Costco prices are competitive and GPS units -- unlike many electronic items like HDTV's and cell phones -- are still covered by Costco's "lifetime satisfaction or your money back guarantee." I have never "abused" their policy but could imagine doing so if a really nifty GPS unit were to become available in a few months. For example, Garmin's new 800-series has replaceable batteries, unlike virtually all other units, which have soldered-in "permanent" batteries that, of course, will die.
As for the Traffic Pro GPS unit that has been touted here as a 993 in-dash unit at a great price, you get what you pay for. The maps are 5 years out of date and will not be updated.

Terry, thanks! Is it mounted on the face of your clock via some type of suction cup???
