Default O/T Wonderful time at Lake Tahoe (pics)

Hi Folks,

Just spent 4 days in Tahoe with my family. What a magical place. Especially on Monday morning when we woke up to 6" of fresh snow all around. All the trees turned white overnight. Just an incredible sight.

We have this 2,850 sq. ft. ski chalet I designed for my friend. Just built this summer. Four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, majestic fireplace and a 54" 1080P Sony HDTV. Pure heaven.

On Saturday, we had an absolutely pristine day. Sparkling blue skies and calm. So we went up onto the High Camp at Squaw Valley. Stunning vistas all around.

Sunday was cloudy, but we planned to hunker down and watch the NFL championship games anyways, so weather was never an issue. It started snowing at 3 pm. Watching a championship game in front of a roaring fire, sipping hot chocolate, while it snowed outside, is just one of those fine moments in life. Too bad the wrong teams won both games.

I finally had a chance to try out my genuine OZ opossum slippers. Also there is nothing better than a bowl of hot vegetable soup on a snow day. Besides football, we did a lot of reading. It was one of the most relaxing weekend I have had in a long time. You folks should try it.

So without further adieu, here is a bunch of pics from the trip. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Tahoe Donner to Auburn was about 2 hours. We did not mind that as we'd prefer to go slow in the snow anyways.

Worse is a big rig/mobile home over-turning and blocking 3 lanes in Fairfield along 80. 18 miles of stopped traffic and it took 2.5 hours to clear that jam.

Without that mess it would be tolerable.

Great Pics. Lake Tahoe is always amazing (Except the summer tourist madness)

Too bad it's not P-Car weather.

Great Pics! If you get back this way with the Ruf this summer, drop me a PM, and I'll come meet you for a drive around the lake!

Squaw Valley is a beautiful place. They should have the winter olympics there sometime.

Squaw Valley did host the 1960 Wniter Olympics. Of course it is a much better resort today.

Ski conditions were great, but I had no skiing buddies so I decided not to ski. I'm not sure my 57 years old body still likes that anymore.
