My New Ferrari!
Well it was mine at least in my imagination for the few minutes I sat in it. This piece of pure car **** was at my friend's shop in Monterey (McCall Motorsports). Complete Alcantara interior, even the door panels, every hot option known to Modena. Nothing exceeds like excess!

Bobby,
That's a beautiful F430 spider! Only cost x2 more than my 360 spider. What are those pad things under the tires? I seem those repeately in Ferrari shops.... What's the purpose of those pads?

These pads get sold off as "Hallowed Ground" to the Ferrari tifosi after a Ferrari has been parked on them, and they will use them as prayer mats 3 times a day while genuflecting in the direction of Enzo's grave in Maranello.
... or so I have been told. But then, I am willing to believe just about anything :-))

Robin,
They are there to stop the tyres getting flat spots (supposedly) or they could be there to stop hot sticky tyres lifting paint....
Simon.
PS =- Love the new ride!

Hi Robin,
I don't know the purpose of the pads, but they look like little pieces of thin plywood, maybe to keep the tires from touching something so mundane as a concrete floor. I meant to ask but I was too addled by just being around this much car. I think he said it is an F460.

The pads are so the tires don't get flat spotted while sitting in the garage ... usually due to the lack of use.
I don't think you are going to have that issue for some reason Robin ...

Wall Street got flushed, Main Street is hanging on to the rim, and Porsche guys are sampling a dream. I love it.

Alcantara is a man made synthetic. I'm sure it doesn't smell as good as real leather. That's why I don't get the premium on it. Its like charging more for vinyl.

Well, my 360 is parked on top of 4 inches the softwood. Now, so much for flat spotting the tires. :P

I did mentioned it a little on another post.
Let's put it this way, the 360 Modena is a combination of a 993 and 996 turbo, but with faster throttle response and a major head turner wherever you go.
And sound that just can not be reproduced by any other car in the world.
So far I love it! Atleast for now the notion of owning a Ferrari it is out of my system, I will probably stick with Porsches in the long run. Much more practical everyday grocery getter than a Ferrari.
