Default How Can I Get This Fire Extinquisher Setup?

This is out of a 997 and i was wondering if anyone knows if it will fit our cars somehow? I like it tucked in tight so it is not in the way.

I suspect that is the 997 factory $150 option, thought there is no pic on the configurator site to confirm it. Did not think to order it.

Kactisimo,
There was a thread on the 997 board just a few days ago. From what I remember, it was indeed a fairly inexpensive option, but if purchased after sale, the parts totaled more than $500. Or something like that. Also, I think the fire extinguisher has a pretty small capacity.

Here be the thread.

Just get the SE mount and be done with it!

There's a similar setup from BK that will run you ~$300. I had one but sold it to a friend last week.

Did you know?....... That a fire extinguisher is good for about 1 second of spray for every 1 pound of weight.

Best wishes all.

Yes sir. As your HWFM Racing Official Blue Flagger we are required to attend (ir)regularly scheduled fire safety schools. With the smaller bottles you want to use very short bursts to establish your aim and put a small fire out or keep a larger fire knocked down until the pros get there.

If you’re at the track, get off the racing line as quickly as possible and head for the nearest corner station or pit road where bigger bottles are always located. Hope no one here ever needs to use this information.

Best wishes

+1 on the SE mount I had the BK mount 1st but it projected into the foot space a little to much for my liking,it would probably be great if you spend more time at the track, easier to reach in a hurry! I still have it if anyone is interested in buying it.

It is the 997 set up, I have it and it's hardly noticeable.

Just checked my H3R, 1211, 2.5lb. FAA Certified for 12 seconds. Could there be a difference between the propellants used in different extinguishers that makes the discharge times so wide spread?

Correction to above. My one H3R is a three pound, for 12 seconds, the 2.5 pound is for 10 seconds.

Cactus. Brother, why do you need a fire extinguisher? Man if my car goes up in flames for no good reason then I bought the wrong car. If it goes up because of a wreck then the putting the fire out will be the last thing on my mind. Getting out will be top priority. I have never understood the whole fire extinguisher thing.
