when did the soft window targa stop getting build? could a 73 be a soft window? they seem very desirable...
fwiw, I have a 71 T (modded for track)...early car prices have gone way up, even for T's
the early cars were very rust prone under the gas tank... and other areas..

The increase in the prices of early 911s the past few years has been insane! $45k is a fair price on that car if it is in good shape and numbers matching like that ad says, but that is the question. Really nice original or faithfully restored 911Ss can go for $60-70k or more in these crazy days. Hell, even Ts go for a lot now! We have a customer who was selling a beautiful original, unrestored Conda Green '71T Targa last year, I think he wanted $35k for it, and there was literally a feeding frenzy when we had in the shop for a couple days getting a few minor issues fixed. About a dozen or more guys in total came to look at it, from LA, SLO, everywhere around, there were even 2 competing guys arguing over it at one point in the parking lot!
Also, a lot of people for Europe are buying up a lot of the good early 911s and 356s, since the dollar is so weak now and many of the early Porsches over there rusted out long ago.
It's a bummer that any early 911 is worth so much now for someone like me who always wanted to buy a "cheap" project car, even rusty rolling shells are expensive now, and I work on the damn things for a living! Suffice it to say it is financially worth it to spend the money to restore these things now.
