Default What do you guys think

I am looking to pick up a 993, I am looking at a couple of vehicles but I am leaning more towards a 96 coupe. I had a friend go take a look at it and was told that it is really clean. The vehicle has all the receipts from day one, it has recent service etc. I am ready to fly down and check out the vehicle and if all is well buy it. The only issue is that the car is being sold by an independant shop that is the only game in town. The next closest is nearly 2 hours away, so the owner is not allowing the car to be taken away. He said he would be more than happy to put it on a hoist, do a compression or leak down in front of me. The shop has been there for 15 years, my friends have only heard good things about him.

Would you guys move on or take a chance?

Thanks much

It's a two owner car, only paintwwork was bumper and front fenders for stone chips, paint matches really well. Its a stock vehicle, limited options. Has just under 80k, has recent service clutch, brakes, condenser. I think I can get it for 27k.

Thanks.

Sounds pretty reasonable, especially considering the new clutch, brakes and AC work. If the 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75K services have been performed, I'd say that it most definately is worth serious consideration.

Thanks for the input. He has all the receipts-it was dealer maintaned with the first owner and he serviced the car for the second owner and bought it off him. I am going to check out aother car in an hour, it's a cab but I have always had a coupe. I'll take some pictures and post them.
