McMaster-Carr has improved their website a great deal since I last ordered from them. It was much easier to find the SS & silicon-bronze hardware in addition I ordered a collection of metric wave washers for my parts bin.

For those interested it's www.mcmaster.com

Thanks Jon and the rest of you.

Chris,
It's even better if your work location is close enough and you do "will call".

Do not buy this size.. I bought them and they did not fit any exhaust clamps or anything else in the cat/muffler/header area.. Bad info..

If your whole exhaust system has been treated with ceramic coating, does this affect the kind of hardware (clamps + nuts etc) needed to fit the system? Or is it OK to go with SS or silicon-bronze hardware?

Don't use brass, it is too soft and will shear.

Use stainless steel. You can buy that at Ace Hardware or order from McMaster-Carr.

Others beat me to it, but you can look here to decide what metals to use and avoid dissimilar metal corrosion:

Great thread,....

The very best hardware for exhaust systems are copper-plated nuts. These can be used with any kind of steel bolt and will not corrode.

Been using such things for 34+ years without any grief,...

If a person is a bit O/S, one can always apply some copper or nickel-based anti-seize on the threads for more insurance.

After a guru like Steve W, it is hard to expand much but...

FWIW, I used SS with a smidgeon of copper grease. Good luck

Recently finished replacing turbos on the 993tt. Got all my replacement nuts/bolts from Sunset. Nuts for turbo/cat connection, cat strap, and exhaust were all of the copper plated variety. The Wurth anti-seize that was recommended to me was also copper based.
