I have the factory 17 cup wheels with the painted porsche crest center caps. After refinishing all 4 wheels, I did the proper thing - pointed the crests toward the valve stems. After my first drive, I realized that my crests were rotating around. A few are actually loose enough to rattle slightly when tapped.
I searched the RL KB and could not find anyone else that has mentioned this back to 2001.
I want to know if this is normal or if Im on the verge of loosing the caps during spirited driving. Is there a way of securing these? if they are too loose?

If your center caps have the 'cup' riveted to the rear, you simply need to take a set of needle nose pliers and gently flare the edges of the cup outwards in a few places. This will cause the center cap to once again sit tight within the wheel.
Naturally, you'll need to remove the center caps first....

Apply a small dab or thin skin of RTV on the fingers of the center cap. Let dry. Install. The RTV helps the fingers grip the wheel. Mine have NEVER moved.
