Nothing is wrong with the Ruf's they are beautiful and bomp proof. You are right, they are super easy to clean. My reason for getting them to begin with was all the same reasons stated here. When I got the wheels the car was a daily driver and I was looking for terrific all around qualities which it possses. However, I am doing a fair amount of Auto-X events now and wanted a set of wheels that I wouldnt have to change out for every event. Typically I'd keep the wheels but having spare wheels for three p-cars and two dd's has become a bit much for the garage.

1. Do a few DEs and autocrosses, including back to the Autobahn CC.
2. Maybe add an aluminum floor pan and upgrade the pedals.
3. Clean the interior of my wheels & detail/paint the area immediately inside the wheel w/aluminum paint.
4. Clay my car and fix some small chips.
5. Find more curvy roads in the Chicago area, which can be a challenge.
Okay, if I get half that done, I'll be satisfied.

I plan to start converting my "Partial Leather" (which basically means almost no leather at all) to a 'mostly leather' interior. I have sent off my upper and lower dash and door panels to 'The 928 Leather Shop' to be recovered in black leather. I saw some photos from 'TheOtherEric', he had the same thing done and the results looked good. I am keeping my fingers crossed, I should have them back sometime next week.

I don't remember a specific thread, but I found all the info I needed here on this forum. I used the PET pages to help locate screws, nuts, etc. The upper dash is really easy, you just have to pull the clock to get to one hidden nut. The lower was a bit of a pain, you have to pull the radio, AC/Heat unit, etc. Not too bad though, all the info is here in this forum. Good time of year to do it!
