Default Was sunroof an option or standard equipment on a 993?

As I noted in another thread, I am starting the build of a PCA "G" stock car. I had planned on removing the sunroof as I thought this was an option in a 993 (unlike the 997). Just to be sure, I asked the cheif scrutineer about my plans and was told she did not think it was an option and I would need to:
"document that it was an option on the U.S. car, or alternatively, that “sunroof delete” was an option. Either the PMNA ordering guide or the Porsche sales booklet."
Anyone know where I can get these docs? Or set me straight that sunroof was "standard" on US cars.

Thanks Again,
Jeff

I don't believe the sunroof was standard, as it has an option code attached to it. However, from my understanding, most 993s were fitted with it, as I hear sunroof delete cars were/are pretty rare.

For 993s, the option code for a sunroof was M650 for those countries where the SR was not standard. I don't have one in front of me, but I believe that the sunroof was listed under Standard Equipment in the Monroney Label on USA cars.

For US market, I believe the sunroof was standard but you had the opportunity to delete it and not the other way around.

P.S. you're very lucky to have a sr delete 993.

993James993 or c4consult, do either of you by chance have the window sticker for your car? I would love to have some paper showing sunroof delete as an option. My big problem now is the cage cant be built until I get the sunroof sorted.... I cant get the sunroff sorted until I get the paperwork squared. My biggest fear would be making an irreversable change that forces me into a GT class. I cant affort to play with that group.

Thanks Again
Jeff
this place is great....

Sunroof delete was an option for 993's. Don't sweat it.

How about a picture of the underhood options sticker? Would the sunroof delete show there?

I got the one with the entire "Roof Delete" option. I don't believe you can get
the cab with a sunroof. it would be kinda cool though. I guess the Targa is the best compromise.

The 997 is the first 911 where you could not delete the sunroof (in the US).
