since we are on the subject of relays. I get an intermittent ABS warning light and a code reading shows ABS relay fault. the relay is not expensive but I'm not sure where its located. I suspect the black plastic case in the front boot next to the spare tire on the passenger side wall?

can anyone confirm the proper location and id of the relay?

You suspect correctly.
That is, indeed, the location of the ABS relay, but there are
a few of them:

R65 is for the ABS motor driven pump
R66 is for the hydraulic brake boost pump
R68 is for the ABS valves.
