Do not, however, believe that they are EXACT replicas! If you look at the rears, they don't appear to have quite the same look; the OEM's are slightly more concave. The only way you'd notice is to park beside a car that has the oeiginals; it's a VERY subtle difference. I think they look great either way!
This, in addition to, the area where the spoke meets the 'drum' or tube for the lack of a better term, isnt sharp and crisp like the BBS iterations.
Both the BBS version and the knockoffs are solid spoke.

OK - I am more confused then ever. Mine do have the 10 and 65 on either side of the valve stem but do not have a Porsche part number on them. Here is a link that has more info about part numbers and weights. www.drivebyguy.com/18LTwt.htm I thought mine were real but now am not sure. Experts out there please assist.
really? that's the first I've heard of this!!!
Are you sure you have NOTHING on the inside backs of any of the spokes? maybe just dirt build up so you can't see it?

Race Car
My understanding is that Porsche wheels have a Porsche model as the beginning of the part number eg. 993.xxx or 996.xxx
But many have said that I don't know crap...

I can't imagine anyone putting made in China 'anything' on your 911, let alone something important like wheels. I'm no expert on wheels, but I have been involved with dealing with Chinese suppliers and manufacturing for various OEM components (IT hardware) for about 10 years now. I've lived and worked in Beijing, speak fluent Chinese and I'm on the phone with China almost every day. I won't go into details here, but they won't let quality get in the way of profit if it means *repeatedly* ignoring very clear specs....

And on the rear side of the wheel, the BBS logo can be found cast in the hub in the area between the bolt holes.

I found that the Italian look-a-likes had thicker flanges which negated the projecting rubber "protector" bead on the sidewall of the tyres. After swapping back (about a year on the copies) to OE hollow spokes with the tyres off the copies fitted, the car felt "right" and was a more pleasant drive at the extremes of its limits. That might have been related to the fact that the non OE fronts were wider than the Porsche rims by 1/2" and seemed to cause more tram-lining.

Uh, did you look at the pictures he posted? Do you see raised, cast numbers, or stampings?

I just went outside and took a picture of my factory MY02 wheel. You can see that the numbers are raised above the surface. And if I remember to bring my camera to my warehouse tomorrow, I will try to take pictures back sides of my other sets of MY02's to show the BBS markings.
