Default 30K miles service

I recently bought a car from our rennlister. The car now has 39,000 miles on the odometer. I know that the previous owner already did the 30K miles service from the dealer.

I would like to know what is 30K miles service conside of? Beside changing the engine oil and maybe bleed the brake, what other things the dealer would do at this service? Did they change the spark plugs? Will they change the distributor cap and wire?

I know that the previous onwer put less than 3000 miles a year on the car. so that 30K miles service must have done at least 3 yrs ago. After purchasing the car, this is the list of what I have done to it:

1) Oil change
2) Brake fluid and clutch bleeding
3) Air filter change
4) Cabin filter (2) change
5) Transmission fluid change

What else (if you guys can recomend) should I change beside what I have mentioned above.

Thank you very mcuh in advance!!

They replaced my plugs when my 30K was done. A think manual calls for that.

I believe the owner's manual has a whole list of various maintenance for all intervals and I think the 30K has a bit more than what you listed.

That's pretty much it - there are pages of "inspect" items. Here are the highlights from the manual:

15K - Oil
30K - Oil, both filters, Plugs, Air Filter, Cabin Filter
Check Belts, Check PS Pump Belt, Check Pads, inspect everything
60K - Tranny Fluid replace
every 3 years - Brake fluid
every 2 years after 10 - Airbag

The manual does not make mention of rotors, disty caps and wires - those are likely inspect and replace when worn.

The challenge of low mile cars is replacing on interval versus miles. Quite a few threads on this.

Take a look at your belts, after 10 years they are probably showing cracks from age, not miles. Even if they are not, I would suggest changing them. Also the gear oil. Again, it is 10 years old.

Thanks for all the response. Over the weekend, I change the engine oil (both filters), Transmission Fluid, Cabin Filter, Bleed the brakes and cluth, and air filter on the car. I contacted the previous owner and asked him regarding to the 30K miles service and wondering what did the dealer done to the car. He told me that he did the service about 2 yrs ago where dealer change engine oil, bleed the brake, change the plugs, and belts. So I will assume that after changing all the fluid myself, I should be good for another year.

Likely correct!
Purchase spare alternator & fan belts and the tools to change them: also, a DME relay plus spare battery for the remote ( and small phillips screwdriver for that) .... and toss these in the trunk as an emergency kit ...

It's not about bleeding the brakes, its about a complete brake fluid replacement, clutch fluid and steering fluid replacment, etc.
