Bringing this thread back from the dead .

What happened here, the GB fell through? I'm also interested in the OEM Alu shift ****/e-brake package (X97/X98 options).. Anyone found out the correct part numbers? Any decent quotes? Possible GB? I know a lot of ppl might be interested. Gert has them priced @~800usd incl. shipping. Leather can be ordered in all interior colours. We might be able to work something here.. Or get a quote from sunset or alike?? Anyone interested?

I also checked with Sunset Porsche ((800) 346-0182) about this. I was quoted $292.12 for the shifter and $388.54 for the e-brake. They apparently only have the 993 (6 speed) shifter, and not the 964 (5 speed) shifter.

Gert's website quotes 350EURO (approx $516) for the shifter and 295EURO (approx $435) for the e-brake, or 645EURO (approx $951) for both. The weak dollar makes buying from Gert not a very attractive proposition for US folks.

I cannot believe the prices for these things! Isn't there an aftermarket for Porsche shift *****? I can go into Kragen and buy any number of generic shift ***** for $35. Not that I want and 8-ball or skull shifter, but come on!

You can certainly get aftermarket shift ***** and boots... I've done it on both of my 993s. However, finding an aftermarket e-brank handle is another story.

Once they emblazon it with a part # that begins with "993" or "964", they seem to think they've got you by the short and curlies!

I once posted a link to what-I-thought was a pretty cool aftermarket handle. The response was less than enthusiastic (relive it here).

These are the part numbers and prices I got from sunset:

****: 000 044 700 14 $313 (back order)
Hand Brake: 993.424.980.07: $335 (back order)
8YR is the code for colour black.

Total is $648....sunset doesnt do GB. Do any other RL sponsors supply these oem parts besides sunset and gert?

I roll with a SKULL shifter. The eyes light-up at 5K rpm. It makes me feel alive.
