What would YOU do?
So... here's the deal. I have a completely stock 97 993 Narrow body. Everything from cd player to wheels (cups) are stock.
I just drove a brand spanking new 997 C4s and was blown away. I want to spice my car a little.
If you were me, what would you do?
I'm looking for ideas from something as simple as a new license plate frame to the most extreme performance upgrades. I don't track my car. I'm the second owner, I've had it 2 years, it's black on black and it's got 150k miles. I don't drive it everyday, but I do drive it a bit and I'm looking to join the san diego porsche club.
It looks identical as the one in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/392606-new-owner.html
So, if you owned this car, what would you do?
Looking forward to the answers.

2. Drive the wheels off of the thing and enjoy every minute of it!
3. When you drive those wheels off, put on a set of 18" turbo twists...far better looking IMHO.
4. Many will suggest a suspension mod....my car came that way (PSS-9 and lowered), but is a bit too low and harsh for DD duty on San Diego's *&$# roads. Not that THAT will stop me from driving it daily! Look at the rest-of-the-world (ROW) ride height (MO30 if i'm correct)
5. The 993 is not a 997....yep, the new ones are faster, more HP, nicer amenities, but I've had many people in the 2 months I've owned mine ask me "Is it a new car?" And it sounds....like a Porsche should!
Sell it and buy THIS one

But I'm biased!

Join PCA!!! Drive it, Drive it, Drive it.... Oh yes, do the AutoX events and do some High Performance Car Control events that PCA puts on. With 150K miles on the clock, I would not do any hp mods untill you do a full rebuild. At that time, you may want to look into a TPC supercharger for some super fun that is Very Drivable on a daily basis. Suspension/lowering is a must too!!!
Most of all.... Enjoy that Puppy!!!!!!!

Suspension upgrade (PSS9 pref), RSR mufflers, oval tips, short shifter, 18 wheels. I would look into a tune up as well. That should keep you busy and put a smile on your mug when your done.

At this point I am going to keep my car for a long time and when it is worn I will restore it. 993's have a soul and I never drove a 997 but I doubt it would give me the same thrill....unless it was a GT3!!!

Stock suspension with 150k miles?
Upgrade the suspension -- check established threads for more info. At the very least replace the shocks. It will feel like a completely new car, you won't believe the difference.

I drove a 997S. Albeit it's a fun car with a bit more grunt, the 993 simply feels like I'm slipping it on as opposed to a car you just get into and drive. With the right upgrades, the 993 can keep up with most younger sports cars. The 993 is by far "the legend" of sports cars.

So you've got a 150k mi car and want to feel like you're driving a new car? Take your car to a good detail shop, get them to touch up the rock chips and give it a complete detail. It'll set you back maybe $200 to $400 and your car will look and feel like new.
If you've got $4k burning your pocket, upgrade suspension, wheels and exhaust.

Great ideas... so far, this is what is standing out the most for me and what I'm considering:
Join PCCA
PSS-9 suspension (lowered) - I'm relatively new so I'm not even sure what PSS-9 is.
Replace wheels to 18'
get paint chips fixed and detailed
Regarding those paint chips, is it better to get front half of car repainted if they're pretty bad? Also I was in the freeway a couple of days ago a piece of tire tread hit my bumper and cracked the underside. Is there a better looking bumper for it?
What about exhaust? What is the best upgrade and about how much does it cost?
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate your input.

However, if I could, I'd keep the 993 for a fun beater and buy a new GT2. Then again, If I had a GT2 I'd probably never drive the 993 anyway, so sell it and buy some tires with the proceeds.

doo al of the above. then, when you finally have to rebuild it, do either 9m stuff or lett Todd K at protomotive convert it to a 3.8l tt.
and if you do either of those, then put in GT3 seats, and if you have not yet, a second oil cooler, and suspension. then drive it for another 150k miles, then do it again.
