Installing a Turbo front bumper cover on a NB
My body shop is telling me that the front fender liners from my 95 993 do not mate nicely with the Turbo front bumper cover that I bought from Carnewal. We looked up on his computer system the part number for both a narrow body and the 4s and the front liner part numbers are the same- This same issue about parts not fitting is happening with the front bracket which hold the fender liner in place.
Has anyone here retrofitted that Turbo cover to a NB car and did they encounter any issues?
The part numbers for the fender liner are: (both the NB and 4s) 99350412500 and 99350412600
For the bracket it is : 99350579300 and 99350579400
thanks

Steve,
This should be no problem - many people here have done this. Frankly, it's a pretty straightforward DIY.
Did you get new front half fender liners - the turbo ones are different than NB and have different mounting brackets.
I should have the part numbers somewhere.....

Steve,
I have the front half liner part numbers listed as:
993-504-125-01
993-504-126-01
You will also need some extra weatherstripping:
999-911-398-40
And it's recommended to grab some extra vent fittings:
993-631-141-01
I don't have the part #s handy for the turbo/2s/4s liner brackets, but they are different than NB parts.
Do some searching here:

Matt-
Thanks for the part numbers- is it the case that your number for the liners is the substitution for the numbers I gave? And yes, we know the brackets need to be swapped out.
Part of the confusion is that I clearly asked Gert to be sure that ALL necessary parts were included.....
What is a vent fitting?

I can attest that the cover will fit. In fact I went the other way and put the C2 bumper cover on my C4S (to facilitate using the GT2 splitters). I traded mine to another RL'er who put my cover on his C2. I actually found the C2 cover made the car run cooler ( I swear its not my imagination). There is more free open area in the C2 cover than the Turbo/C4 cover.

The cover fits fine- its the wheel liners that are at issue and the computerized diagrams that the shop uses are not as sophisticated as the Porsche and the Pelikan ones.
How many body shops are swapping out NB covers for Turbo ones? It's that damn learning curve again!!!
thanks

RC- Unfortunately, while it "works" it is not completely correct and is missing the front bracket. I know I am being compulsive about doing this the way the factory intended....

I doubt you had a "Turbo" rear bumper, because it wouldn't fit a NB due to the extra width, however you do have what appears to be a "Euro" rear bumper, sans the bumperettes. From Carnewals website:

Ralph, et al: The cover fits fine- it is the liner that we are having an issue with.
Yes, one can cobble together the old liner- but as Matt and I know, it is not the way the factory intended.
The problem I am having is that the PET drawing does not list the Turbo liner as a separate piece- thus far, only Pelikan shows a separate part number....

Hey - Jeff, you are correct about the rear bumper - it was a year ago and my feeble brain generated another fart on this issue. Steve - as to the inner fender piece, my body guy did have to do some work with the existing liner to make it work. It really is not that noticeable and has held up fine. I realize you are seeking the factory install. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Ralph- No problem
What is odd is that Gert and the people who bought his "kit" are unaware that there are parts that make this go together per the original design. I don't think that zip ties and the removal of the front bracket (which one must do without the proper liners) is up to snuff- at least for me that is.......
