Default Wanted: '95-98 993 around $30K, SoCal preferred

I just sold my beloved '89 Carrera:

http://66.236.61.177/showthread.php?t=375853

in anticipation of purchasing a sweet 993 I've had my eye on for awhile. The owner decided not to sell it at the last minute, so I need to find another nice 993 to buy. Southern California is preferred, but will consider cars elsewhere.

I am a long time Rennlist and PCA member who wants a '95-98 993 coupe or Targa around $30,000 in nice shape, 100,000 miles or less. Cash is waiting for the right car. No red, black, or silver cars, and no Tiptronics please. Please email me if you have one for sale or if you know of any leads.

Thanks,

It says "new user" with 2 posts?... Just giving you a hard time. There are plenty of good cars in SoCal, but I wouldn't rule out traveling to get the right car. Good luck with your search.

Yeah...I was a member of PorschePhiles (Stan Hank's list), PorscheFans, and Rennlist when it first started some years ago. I made my current profile back in '03 as I completely forgot my old login info. I've hung out on Pelican a lot because they have a lot of good info for the 3.2 Carreras, but I hear this is the place to be for 993s.

Jay,

I just realized that I test drove now-your-ex '89 for you near Palo Alto and sent you pictures... Hmm, must be 5 years ago now?

Glad to hear that that car served you well.

Good luck with your hunt for a 993!

Thanks,

One of our fellow Rennlisters (David Ray) is selling his 95 993 with a lot of nice mods.

The car is in San Diego.

The ad expired on Craiglist.
Do a search on the 993 forum for a thread called:
FS: Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For....
and you'll see pictures of the car and information about the car.

Thanks for all the replies so far...I think I have a hot lead.

Deep Purple (sorry, forgot you're real name)...yes that was you who checked out that car for me four years ago! Thanks for helping me get such a great car...it was bulletproof and amazing fun to drive. I wouldn't have sold it but I've got the 993 bug. Anyone else here upgrade from a 3.2 Carrera? I've heard it will be like owning a cross between a 3.2 (raw edged) and a 996 (too civilized), which is exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks again,

Jay

Depending how each is set up, much closer to a 3.2 than a 996. You are in for a real treat.

The one I'm considering at has a PSS9 suspension, which supposedly makes it handle as it should! This one might not work out, so if you have any more leads please send them my way.

Thanks
