No. I believe the general consensus on the gentleman when it comes to 993 pricing is "he's on crack."

I think the Editor at Excellence must not be aware of the delusional discrepancies in market prices that are being published in their magazine by someone that has totally lost all touch with reality such as Mr. Anderson.

Please feel free to voice your opinions here.

Maybe they'll listen?

nah, its kinda like the drunk uncle syndrome.....he's been part of the family gatherings for so long you can't just not have him there. You know he's a drunk and no one wants to be the one to ask him not to show up any more. SO you put up with him knowing sooner or later.........well he'll dye or just be to drunk prior to show up anymore.

FWIW, a 98 C2S can be had for 69K with twice the mileage here in Toronto. I almost purchased it but found a great 96 C2 cab in impeccable shape which I jumped on. I personally think the comment made on Excellence is as bona fide as a long lost Nigerian hut dweller that needs to transfer his $350 million of his inheritance out of the country but needs all your private information to do so. The Nigerian will offer an additional 10% for acting so quickly.
I love happy endings.

You mean to say....that Bruce is editorializing what he wants us to read?!

That blows the whole credibility of his pricing opinions, what little there is left, out of sight completely.

I have sent them emails asking where they are getting the data for the prices. I just wanted to know WHERE the data came from and understand the price results, not to discredit them. None of my emails were selected for publication. Wonder why....

Reminds me of a time back in 2003 at an event in Kentucky. Bruce was hosting a tech session, and someone asked "Do California & Arizona cars hold their value better due to the weather?" His answer was a resounding no. When pressed, he then added that he never heard of such a thing. A quick look around the audience had many people looking at the ground and shifting their weight. Back then, it was apparent that he had lost a step.

On a personal note, my dad is going through the same thing right now. He just turned 81, but is a shadow of what he used to be intellectually. It is painful to watch when he argues with people and tells them what he used to do for a living (aerospace engineer) and the people he used to know. I have seen people actually laugh at him. That is tough to take, and I am sure it eats him up inside.

Bruce has been a tremendous figure in the Porsche world for such a long time. I am truly a huge fan. In fact, I attended the tech session in KY just to meet him. Despite this, I think that he has transitioned from being a help to a hinderance for Excellence Magazine in his current role, and they should do something about it. He still offers a wealth of information about the Porsches of old, so perhaps they should transition him to a "historian" or "pre-996" technical expert role? I do want to see his article in Excellence as he is a living legend...

Me thinks Mr. Anderson is tired of attending cocktail parties and having to defend his ' reades sales reports" Sooooooooooo why not just make it so in his
report. Then he can point to this of b s--t and say "see, I told you so!"
