Default Custom rubber 'tray' floormats for 993s?

Does anybody make rubber tray floormats for 993s.. the kind that hold water and slush and so on? I haven't been able to find any, and winter's almost here. I have some generic ones I cut down to fit, but of course the integrity of the tray has been spoiled and it's going to ooze crap into my floor liner....

Thanks.

You can do what I did... go to autozone and buy an oversized generic set and cut them to fit with your carpets as the template. Costs $20, took 10 minutes and worked great.

Not sure how well the Weathertech mats work on a car with a low seating position and a clutch pedal. I has them years ago in my old GTI and they slid all over the place. Of course in a 993 you don't have to worry about the mat getting trapped under the pedals...

I would like to find a true "tray" style floormat, with an actual lip around the edge that fits perfectly along the tunnel and side sill. I've seen them for SUVs in Autoweek ads, but never for Porsches.

Also, you really do want carpet in the middle, even if it's a coarse waterproof all-weather carpet. Nothing's better for getting crud and snow off your shoes than carpet.

Like this, just with carpet:

Not sure, but I just happened to have their website bookmarked because I was thinking about getting the mat for the rear cargo area to put in my 4-runner. btw, the mats that I have look like the ones in the picture that Rallyjon posted. I haven't had any problem with them sliding, because they fit really snug and the 4-Runner has hooks that are built in to the floor for the factory mats and Weathertech made allowances to use these hooks on their mats as well. I know that my Lloyds mats in my 993 had holes for the screws that hold them down, maybe Weathertech has these too. If you zoom in on their picture, they appear to have small round circles that may be for punching holes to install those screws to hold them down.

Default are the weathertech mats "hefty"

Hi, I ran across this thread while searching for comments on Weathertech mats.

I have a non-pcar for which I am considering the rubber mats because it will see lots of winter usage (think soggy, muddy boots). I am thinking about the Weathertech "digital fit" because

1) the seem to be shaped a little like "pans" - i.e. the perimeter of the mat forms a lip.

2) in the rear, the mat is a 1-piece mat that goes across the transmission tunnel. The OEM rubber mats are only mats for the footwells proper and I don't want to constantly nag the kids to not step on the carpet with muddy boots

How "hefty" are the Weathertech mats? I ask because on a previous car I bought used, the PO had put in all-weather mats that were about the thickness of 3 or 4 paint-tray-liners stacked on top of each other. They did the job but looked flimsy. From Weathertech's website it is hard to tell whether the mats are "hefty". On the SUV I just sold I had bought the OEM rubber mats that were very pliable, heavy rubber, but with a honeycomb structure that, while trapping water just fine, were a bear to clean. (And the rear mats were footwell mats only, and even though I am pretty good about keeping cars clean inside out, I did spend a fair amount of elbow grease shampooing and cleaning the carpet on just that darn transmission tunnel in the rear)

Thanks in advance.

I bought the Weathertech floormats from Performance for my car and they're a perfect fit.
