Default C4 for sale

Do to personal reasons, I've decided to sell my 95 C4. Anyone on here have any luck with Craigslist? Not sure if this is the right type of venue for this type of car.

Also would like to thank all the people who posted info on here. This is the best car site out there.

I posted my wife's CLK 500 on the Phoenix Craiglist and I got every low ballin', " I never driven that model before" crowd in town calling me. I dumped that ad and put it on Autotrader and was pleased with the calls and the short amount of time it took to sell it. A guy from NM drove over and bought it within two hours.
You should consider putting it on the PCA site if you are a member. It's free and surfed by active car seeking members.

PCA is a great call. It has worked every time for me.

I think that's my old 95 C4, and it's a nice example. Good luck with the sale, Ron.

Default Is this the 993

I found for you Vic?.....if so It was a great example!

I remember meeting you in person the day you flew in from Boston to drive the Porsche home.......Now in the interest of full disclosure, was the car not in a accident in Boston and there was meaningful body damage?

Or was it another 993 you owned Vic that was in the referenced accident?

Vic you trade Porsches like I used to.....So I may be confused about which GR '95 993 C4 that was damaged...under you ownership

Ron, if I am mistaken, I apologize...but if this was the Porsche with body damage, then full disclosure is a must in my opinion

Same car, Berkley. I remember meeting you that day. You have an encyclopedic memory for these cars!

The car was tapped -- and I mean tapped -- just in front of the passenger side rear wheel by someone trying to merge into crawling traffic into a Boston rotary (traffic circle) at about 5 mph. I think a paintless repair would've worked except for the fact that the paint beneath the clear stoneguard cracked as a result. It was repaired at Dick's Auto Body in Somerville, MA, regarded as the best bodyshop in the Boston area. I disclosed this to Ron, of course, and I think I bitched about it here when it happened, but it was absolutely a cosmetic issue, not any sort of impact or accident damage. They did a beautiful job matching the finish and no one would ever know.

You may be thinking of the 95 black C2 I had with 23k miles, owned it for 3 months and it was totalled in a head-on at 45 mph when an old woman in a minivan decided to pull across traffic 100 feet in front of me. That car was bought as salvage by a bodyshop owner in Worcester MA and his intention was to rebuild it, so I'm sure it's floating out there somewhere.

Yes Vic, it is your old car. It has been wonderful for me, but do to a upcoming move and relocation, I have to sell.

The way Vic explained the fender was that it required just a small touch up. In fact the PPI I had done at the Boston dealer didn't even pick up on it. It is also not mentioned on the Carfax report.

I honestly didn't think this would change the value that much since it was such a small repair. Do you guys think that my price should be lower then??

I do have the car on PCA by the way....

Actually, I found a picture of the crease before the repair ... I wouldn't discount the car as a result, it was really a small event.

I like Autotrader and cars.com, too. Good luck with the sale.

I've never sold a Porsche (it may be different with this type of car), but I've sold a couple of BMW's on Ebay before. The trick is to take great pictures of the car detailed and the hard part is to put NO RESERVE on the listing. Start the bidding very low like at 100 -1000 bucks and advertise the auction. Both times I got fair market for the car and it takes 7 -10 days to sell. However, you have to have a strong stomach for the NO RESERVE portion of it.

I wouldn't discount that minor dent either.

Looks like a nice car priced at the current market level for a private sale based on my wanderings through ads lately. Has there been any clutch or top end work done? If so, this might ease buyers concerns about having to layout $$$ in the next few years.
