Wow... super clean and barely broken in. I wonder what that'll go for?

I spoke with the owner... it appears that he is not that knowledgable about the car. He's less than an hour from me and I was thinking about checking it out this weekend (I'll update everyone with findings). After our conversation, he's "not sure" if they are big reds or painted 993 calipers (he did update the description with this uncertainty after our discussion). Is it possible to verify from the picture (see below)? He's the third owner and is uncertain about which suspension system is in the car (believes that the original owner did some type of "modification" in 1996). He is not aware of any color coding on the springs and believes that it is some form of "Eibach" system. He believes that the aerokit is Gemballa, but is not sure if it is fiberglass or other material. He believes the the car was "exempted" from the wiring harness recall based on the VIN. (WP0AA2996SS320784). Can someone verify if this is correct? He also believes that the previous owner may have replaced the plug wires and rotors. It also appears that the silver instrument gauges are some form of aftermarket product based on the photo. Can anyone tell from the photo. It also appears that the leather on the airbag doesn't quite match the rest of the steering wheel. Am I over interpreting this? The car was also listed before on Ebay and did not meet his reserve. He's hoping to get $40K for the car. (BTW, I have no affiliation or conflict, other than that if all these issues are resolved, I may be interested in purchasing the car... that is after it doesn't meet the reserve and I drive over with a a more reasonable wad of cash for him to contemplate).

Those rotors look pretty small for big reds.

A nice-looking car but a "rare" polar silver coupe? Please.

That front spoiler is a 993 GT2 spoiler. I don't think Gemballa would have made something that understated. <snap>

Hmm, I saw a polar silver with that body kit at Dougherty's in West Chester, yesterday. I wonder if it was that car?

I checked Pelican and they have the center-rear reflector for $375.75. Why would you not replace it if you expected $40k for the car?

BTW, does anyone know why the right tail light costs $4 more than the left tail light?

I flagged this on my watch list earlier today. It looks like a nice car but owners who know very little scare me off and I just assume they are flipping the car.

ps What is with the all cap ads on Ebay? Drives me nuts.

I just bought a nearly identical polar silver car- same mileage, same condition but without the wings. It was bought from owner number two who owned it from mile 5k-24k and the mech history was almost non-existant. Meaning, that very little besides the 15k service and a bunch of little things like a broken CD player, etc. were done to it. Oil on the 3k interval plan and some rear tires.....

The options included: sunroof, htd seats, hi-fi and limited slip...

$34,250

So, I looked for some pics of big reds and if I'm not mistaken, the brakes from this ad are just painted 993 calipers (see pics below of this car and pics from a c4s posted in another thread today)

Says who? AFAIK that's just not true. But I agree that his airbag may have deployed due to a collision.

It amazes me that someone would own such a nice example for 4 years and then have this level of recollection:

I see a red flag quietly waving off in the distance.....
