Being a paid member means you're helping support the site, the hosting costs, gaining access to members areas, members classifieds etc. In the end someone needs to pay for hosting and maintenance of the site, members fees help to aid with this... it's respectful of the people providing the service.

go to edit your post and you will see another option to either delete it or change the heading....others will chime in on exactly how to do it.

I don't think you can delete it but you can "lock" it.
Go to the top of this screen and look for the "Thread Tools" link, click and select "Perform Action" button.

In the thread only the author may 'close the thread'. Click Thread Tools, click radio bullet "Close Thread", and ok. You're done.
