As with any 'accident' ... no one thing or person caused this tragedy. It is always a combination a separate factors. And it is unfortunate that incidents like this get dragged through the courts but this is a result of the litigious society within which we live.
That being said ... I have driven a CGT at speed and it is indeed a car that is not like driving a regular 911. You have to have respect for this beast at all times. Accordingly I have to say that I am very iffy about Porsche having any liability here but I understand PAG simply chosing to limit their losses.
But the bottomline in all of this is that two good people lost their lives. And for those of us that choose to venture to the track we need to keep in mind that this is the risk that we assume everytime that we strap on a helmet.
