Also I am not sure which is worth more money a 993 with 200000 miles that has had suspension work + tranny rebuild + motor (top/bottom) rebuild at 180K miles or a 993 with 70000 miles on it. Talking about resale value that is. Atleast if I rebuild everything myself, I know its got another good 120K miles without major problems.

This car (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=362737) is in your price range. It has some road chips and a couple of dents on the driver's side. Seems to be well-maintained. I need a tip.

Here is that Midwest 993 with 175K and still counting. I drive her 50 miles everday rain, snow or shine.
This is a good discussion. To run this long this good means its been taken care of. Anyone hanging out here much can tell you of many top ends and tranny work done on Pcars with less than 100K.
On well built cars like this, miles don't matter...the worst thing that can happen to these cars is its owner.

That car definitely looks nice but its sight unseen. I am not sure but I feel like with my luck I will buy it and bam everything will explode on me. I talked to my local shop in SB, and they said a top end alone on a 993 can be up to 10K. I mean, I would love to do it myself, but if I get stuck and need a pro to put it back together 10K for just the TOP end seems like X_X to me. Not trying to play down your car, just that my experiences have shown me that I have the worst luck ever.
