Default removing rear seats?

Since I have no use for he rear seats, seeing as it's pretty hard to cram someone in there, I want to know if anyone can suggest what to replace them with? Has anyone done this?

Some use the "Rear Seat delete / package Tray" option, and others just go with the RS carpet kit. There is also a guy named Rod Birch that does custom subwoofer enclosures that many have used. If you do a search, you will find lots of info and pictures.

You don't have to do anything -- I removed the flip-down seats and the rear seatbelts. It looks clean as-is, with just the bottom cushions in place.

I think that there isn't any carpeting under the seat cushions, or that if there is, there'll be a lot of glue residue left behind (pun intended) if you remove them. One thing I've seen people do that looks nice is remove the cushions and put carpeting in their place, in lieu of carpeting the entire rear half of the interior. If you really want to maximize the weight savings, and you're not going to remove sound deadening, you can also remove the rear speakers from the package shelf while you have it loosened up for the seatbelt removal.

The carpeting seems like the best option. The car isn't really running right now so I might have my money tied up in fixing it if the dealership won't take care of it, so I'm looking for the cheapest option. I'm not really planning on doing too much weight reduction because this is my DD, so I'd want to keep the speakers, for now!:P Maybe in a few years I'll get another car as a daily driver, something cheap (Gas prices in Portugal are crazy, about 1.33€ per litre), and try make this into a track car.
