Default Textar OE and Aftermarket Brake Pads

Firstly, let me appologise if this is old news. However, I have read with interest the debate over Porsche branded brake pads and the Textar aftermarket pads. I've read that many thought the after market parts were inferior in some way to the OE parts (also made by Textar) whilst others opined that there was no difference.

So being an Engineer and always needing convincing of these matters, I contacted the Textar Technical Department in Germay. I spoke with a Textar Engineer who confirmed that the OE and aftermarket parts are identical in all respects with the exception of the labelling and packaging.

TheTextar aftermarket parts are less then half the price of the OE parts in the UK. Hope this is usefull to people. My apologies again if you new it already.

Sounds like the next step in this experiment is to buy the aftermarket ones and put them on.

Then, follow up and let us know if they squeal.
