Default 993 chip and cat mod

In the near future I will be buying some land in a rural county with no emmsion testing. Has anyone here had any experience with chip/remap and sport cats on the 993? Does it make an noticeable difference?

And please no lectures on how I am going to destroy the planet with my 993. You are too late, Al already won the Nobel Prize.

I've heard that a cat delete or bypass pipe uncorks power, but the exhaust is somewhat "smelly".

Bypass is for increased testosterone and decreased rear weight but not increased HP. It won't help the engine, but it's a cool mod if you don't have neighbors who are easily disturbed.
Most of us believe the Steve w chip may add some mid range oomph and is useful for cars with light flywheel mod.

Well, I have a set of Fabspeed by-pass pipes for sale! Let me know if you want them.

Some of those posts had a strong baring on my purchase of Chris' DACH-X pipes. The exhaust is louder but not obnoxious and there is a bit of smell but either it diffuses or you stop noticing after a while. At any rate, it's more of a HotRod scent, which is not unwelcomed. Chris' product is first class whereas I've heard mixed reviews about other brands. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

Didn't mean to start anything... bypass pipes sound nice, and if Chris's dyno shows his product adds hp, that's an added plus. But if pipes sounded lousy, I doubt any of us would do the mod!
