Congrats on the license plate.
But then you need to have working a/c to deal with the 95 degree/95% humidity days, and you probably don't want to risk your p-car when it snows or ice storms on a regular basis in the winter.
I spent the first 18 years of my life in Johnson County and many of those years (I got my license at 14) sweating inside or chipping ice off my car, so can't imagine how I could enjoy my car hobby if I still lived there.

$500k? I had a 3200 sq. ft. brand new brick home with 3 fireplaces, a 3-car garage, on a private lake with a channel and dock behind the house, for $250k. Had a sweet 87 930 in the garage, too.
Then I moved to Boston ... talk about sticker shock!

Wichita...you poor soul!
I live in Johnson County as well. And yes, I do need working AC and the ice storms are a pain, Kansas is far from paradise! However, my silver lining is that living in a place like this has allowed me to have a wonderful home with a nice fenced yard for my lab (named Moose) and a two-car garage, AND buy the 993 of my dreams way before I ever thought I would be able to (tender age of 27). A little snow isn't going to bring my spirits down! Heck, that's why I bought a C4S!!!
I am secretly jealous of everyone who can enjoy their passion year round but at least I can still look in the garage which is better than nothing

Coaster's--cash out and move to Kansas!

My parents still live in the house I grew up in Leawood, and they keep suggesting that I buy their house. But if I'm moving out to the sticks, I would want more than a 2 car garage, especially since I could buy a few more toys. I could just put a pole barn out back...but then I remember there were rules about everything and all the lawns were green and nicely kept. My neighbors were never happy about my 72 Olds rusting out on the street so I'm sure today I couldn't just build a shop out back.

I remember some PM's we exchanged. I believe you were a SM South grad. SMS is 1/2 way between Adam (proud new owner of "Ruby") and me. Obviously we don't get the rapid (and insane) home appreciation the coasts do, but Leawood is one of the best places to be in JoCo.
Look us up when you are back visiting.
