Interior color scheme
I think that may be a "rose" interior. I remember seeing one like that in a new silver 993 in 1996 at the dealer. The special color had a list price of something like $7000, but the dealer was offering it for almost $4,000 off the price of a standard 993 without the interior.

Was rose a color or designator? The sticker states boxster red.

I love it - it's a lot like my car (with the black stripe on the door), although I have a red steering wheel. I have black mats with red lettering, too, and it really works well.

I test drove a 993 with a red interior, when I backed it out of the [dark] garage and hit the brake lights, BAM the red really hits you. Kind of a shock at first. I imagine you get used to it. Ultimately I bought a different car.
My wife REALLLY like the red interior, but the car had other issues that I didn't want to deal with.

I wholeheartedly agree with VJD3. My 95 993 is grandprix white with flamenco red leather with black accents similar as the car in your pics. The flamenco red is a shade darker red in person than the boxter red. My first interior mod was getting a black 3 spoke MY02 steering wheel. My next mods will be getting new black matts/red lettering and the MY02 shifter but keeping the red covering on the boot.
