Default Remember the "Rennlist Race Car" thread?

Some time back there was a thread about a Rennlist sponsored race car. The plan was to sell sponsorship in the form of one inch squares on a 997 GT3 Cup car, if I recall correctly.

The threads took on a life of their own, becoming one of the most humorous threads I have ever seen on any message board...to the point where they were ultimately pulled, as the sponsorship idea had lost all credibility (in large part because he had essentially zero racing credentials, or he failed to provide any.)

I believe this is the same guy, is it not? This appeared in today's Parade magazine:

That appears to be a Kelly-Moss 997 GT3, so I guess he came up with 'plan B' and eventually made it to the track, and with a good cause. Website here: http://rfoh.org/home.htm (One of the driver's listed on the site is Don Bell, CEO of Bell Micro, a long-time Porsche racer.)

Interesting. Yes, that's the same guy from before. Thanks for the update on such a hilarious thread. The selling ad squares idea was a classic!

A couple of us were talking about that concept at this week's race.
