Default Hollow Spoke side-2-side orientation

I recently saw photo's of a very nice car with what looked to be hollow spokes.
One puzzling thing caught my eye.

On the driver's side, the leading edge of the spokes are the "longer" edge of the spoke.

On the passenger side, the leading edge of the spokes are the "shorter" edge of the spoke.

?????????????????????????????????

I guess this is correct and save Porsche from making R and L specific wheels???
Has anyone else noticed this?
Does anyone care?

I think the side with the long leading edge rotation looks better.

see examples below.

Left image = Drivers side, rotates CCW.
Right image = Passenger side, rotates CW.

thanks

Craig

Same wheel for either side. The only differences are widths, offsets, and hollow vs solid.

Those are NOT 993 twists (see the big lip). (100% sure)

They might be from a Boxster. (60% sure)

Oh, BTW, yes, that is how twists appear on the car--one side slices forward, one side backward.

If you have twists, just make sure your alignment shop adds an extra 3 minutes of left toe or your car will pull slightly to the right at high speeds.

Uhhhhhh - the wheel is only cast in 'one direction'. It will orient the "opposite" way depending on the side of the car it is mounted

Did I see somewhere that there was an expensive option for opposite orientation wheels offered back when? Or did I dream that?

They are 996 twists. I can't speak for narrow body, but the wide body versions are 11 inches as opposed to 10 for the 993.

If you don't like the direction of those spokes, just switch 'em with the other side!

Those rims are for cars that are U.S.-spec and Euro-spec sold in countries north of the equator...for Euro-specs cars sold south of the equator, the twist goes the other way
