Default Finding codes for RPM history?

I saw a post this month that discussed codes showing how many times the engine on a 911 has exceeded certain RPM levels. Now I can't find that thread.

How do you access those codes? Also, someone posted the range of codes and their meaning. Would you mind reposting those, please? Do you need to worry about a seller erasing that history? (I would hope not.)

The 993 DME ECU (M2.1.1 & M5.2) does not have an overrev counter like the newer ME7 based models (986, 996, 997).

Its great for the buyer but can be a real bummer for the seller. Type II over revs can kill the value of a car real fast.

Until the manufacturer denies warranty coverage because you bumped the rev limiter....repeatedly.

That feature killed 3 or 4 deals for a buddy of mine that is looking for a GT2 ... all of them had massive amounts of over-revs.

In case you're thinking of buying a car with the DME history, I finally found the post that explained the DME Code results:

"range 1 7300 to 7500
range 2 7501 to 7700
range 3 7701 to 7900
range 4 7901 to 8400
range 5 8401 to 9500
range 6 9501 to 11000

I assume therefore anything above range 1 must be a mechanical overrev since the rev limiter (set to 7400 rpm?) did not stop it. Arguably anything beyond a range 1 means the driver was abusing the car."
