Default Question about a car I'm looking at: lifter replacement

Lady claims that the lifters were replaced on a 50K mile 95' 993 - since one was bad. Says the car was never run hard. Do lifters in 993's just ' - go bad'???

Yes, and I'd want to see the receipt for the job. Lifters have skyrocketed in price recently.

Yeah, they do fail when the oil is not changed often enough for the way the car is used (lots of idling and low RPM operation).

That makes sense since she claims to have NEVER run it hard. Hmmmm - I had a ppi done today and the car looks good...I'm tempted...

I'd be weary of a 993 that had been babied. Mine sees redline every time I drive it and triple digit speeds most times too. They don't like to be babied.

Cool. Mine should last forever and be worth $60,000 with all of the mods I've put into it.

Mark, your car has truly been driven the way they're meant to be driven. I know this firsthand. I just wish she got exercised more often than every DE.
