I was married with child and the school was down the street, so it worked.
I had fun. It probably got my foot in the door for an interview or two over the years. My investments have done much better since I received the degree -- I always wanted to be able to understand that stuff in the back of an annual report. I'd do it again, and I'd do it at Rutgers, but mainly because it was fun. If I wanted to work on Wall Street I would have gone elsewhere.

My goal is to do a part-time MBA at NYU (a collegue is doing it now), but have to take the GMATs again.
At the same time, i'm still debating whether it will help in furthering my career (IT) or venture into a different path. My immediate thoughts are that an MBA will not help in the IT industry as much as it would for Finance and other industries. If I do attend it would purely be for personal goals. Thoughts anyone?
Good luck with it!

In terms of its effect on your direct position, probably not useful, but a smart guy with an IT background a good MBA will probably do quite well, especially if you're into math.
Good luck with the GMAT. I took the princeton review class and found it helpful.

I got one of those. Memphis State University, MBA 1973.
Same year that Memphis Statue played UCLA in the NCAA championship game. Bill Walton scored 44 points. We lost.

Yep, USC '06. Now, I invest private equity money in commercial real estate. That said, if the market continues its return to sanity (
), I'll be buying distressed debt or something.
