Something has to give, right? Every action has an opposite and equal reaction. I think I learned that in Physics a few decades ago.

Example that is similar to what you are saying but with a different car. Wife's BMW had 16's standard, went to 18's and the ride is much better. Is that due to the wheels or due to the tires? My guess is tires since we got rid of the runflats and went to a normal performance tire.

Thanks for the replies. 19's not really on my radar - though they look really good on Tony's Polar TT. I was discussing it yesterday with a new 993 owner and realized I hadn't read a lot on it. Ginger is safe with 18's.

These are 18s (Mark thanks for the compliment)

I could've sworn those were 19s too. I guess staggered wheels with large centers can give that impression. Love your car man.

Tony,
Are you saying those are 18's or 19's? Your car is the most visually balanced of all 993's I've seen. It's even more beautiful in person than pictures!

They're 19"s. I don't remember the exact weights on these HREs but they weren't much more than my HS (993 or 996) rims. I'm running 255/30/19 in front and 305/25/19 in the rear. Again, can't remember exactly but the overall diameters of this current set up compared to the OEM set up (225/40/18 and 285/35/18) was less than 1% difference.

The read down size is the cost and availability of tires... As for the rides... I can't tell. Maybe Jonathan can chime in as he is the only person that have driven my car.

Thanks again Mark for the kind words... and glad you and Ginger are still together. Lets get together soon.

Louis..

Sorry bruddah... I was trying to be funny, they're 19s

These wheels are not the reversed lips... which gives it a bit of an illusion (to be smaller) because of the step lips. The reversed lips 19s will give it the wagon wheels look

Sneaky, sneaky . Well, I guess your wheels are in the same group as the 19" RUFs and TechArts...they look awesome.

I'm the new 993 owner Mark is talking about. I've been wrestling with the idea of installing 18" turbo twists or Victor Equipment LeMans on my Polar Silver '95 nb. When I called WheelDynamics, they said 19's look a lot better than 18's in the LeMans.

BTW: Here are the LeMans:

After having 19s on my car, I'm now partial to 18s though I like some 19s as pointed out above. The one rule for me on 19s is that they have to be on a WB. They simply look too big on a NB. Just my .02.

Makes even the big reds look small when you put on 19s. Looks out of proportion.
