Painting wheels??
Hey guys,
I just completed the first of many to come brake pad changes since owning the car. Before I was having my shop install the pads and therefore never saw the inside of the wheels. Upon removal it was shocking how dirty they were, I tried a variety of products and tons of elbow grease. They are still dirty as some of the dust seems bonded to the clear coat.
My question is has anyone painted the inside of their wheels using high temp spray paint? Would this even make sense? I hear powder coating weakens the wheel but yields a better finish?
Any experience or opinions are welcome...
thanks and cheers,

Wheel refinishing shops remove "bonded" brake dust with an acid bath. It works very well, just be careful and rinse it off before it goes too far.
I've read that industrial cleaners like Prosoco 600 work well for home use: http://www.prosoco.com
