5250 miles round trip (8400 kms) twice. summer 2005 & summer 2006.
34 hours driving one way, avg speed on odo 129kph (80mph) 11.1 liters per 100 kms (21.2mpg). 10 countries- a lot of constant 150 mph, only 250 miles of 2625 is speed limited...(thus France only)
ALL one ways done on Sundays and part of monday (practically zero traffic)
Car impressed me, ULTRA ROBUST.
Discovered that tires dont wear as usual, a lot less (they dry though). Oil consumption is a lot less, as well

Stay a little bit in germany if you want to drive your car as fast as it can
Then, going south, in November, seems to be a good direction !!!
Watch out in Switzerland, lots of speed camera
Italy is a very nice place. You can visit Milano/Verona/firenze/sienna/Pisa/Roma !!
And Finally.............France !!
St Tropez isn't the place I will go first...................depends what you're looking for

November weather over the Alps could be iffy. That's why we are leaving on 8-30. Doing Phaffenhausen, the Dolomites, Jungfrau (?) Garmish Partenkirchen (?) etc. etc. But that's your peak 'season' so I understand the November date.
Enjoy driving the GT3 all over Europe. You can't duplicate that kind of driving state-side.

800 miles round trip all in the same day. Williston, VT to Philadelphia, PA and back with a 75 minute meeting in the middle of it all. Never felt sleepy on the drive at all. Even though Pole positions are "firm" (thats an understatement) they offer terrific support. The return trip was unplanned as I was planning on spending the night in Philly as I had a meeting in Vermont late the next morning. Even though I drove through the middle of the night at a fairly high rate of speed I felt fine when done.

Used to do regular solo drives from Dallas area to LA in my old '72 S, screaming across the desert in triple digits. Best trip was 5 week road trip in an SC targa from DFW thru the west up to Seattle, down Hwy 1 to LA, then back across the desert home.
Nightflyer, if you drive out to Calif from DFW, be sure to go I 40 rather than the straight, hotter route thru PHX. There are some great roads and side sights not to be missed. The drive thru Oak Creek Canyon, Jerome, etc. is great. Swing by the Grand Canyon. Definitely go to LA then up Hwy1. Everyone should drive it. Have lunch at Nepenthe in the Big Sur. If you haven't been out that way before, and want specific tips come by the house and visit, we can look at a map.
