Usually Esso (that's Exxon to you), but ALWAYS A brands (usually Total if Esso is not available), NEVER Shell, and aways 98 RON.

I use my Kroger Plus card to buy at least $100 worth of groceries (beer, mostly) and then get $0.15 /gallon off when I fill up there. 93 octane for the car, Bass Ale for me. Two fillups at once!

I heard that fuel injection cleaners get on the plugs and shorten the life. True or false?

I doubt it, but even if is true, I rather change the plugs every 30K miles instead of say 60K miles, and avoid having to do a $5K head due to sticky valves, clogged SAI passages, or pre-detonation of cylinders due to carbon deposits.

Many years ago I worked in a quality control lab for a Gulf Oil refinery.
Gasolines were produced for other retailers by Gulf. They did have slightly different spec sometimes but I can't say if those would be meaningful to our (or anybodies) cars. Other competitors products were also tested btw.

Sidebar- I was always amused by the old Shell ads boasting "Shell; with Platformate!"

ALL gasoline has platformate (and reformate). Its like saying; "Air; with oxygen!"

Nothing beats getting high off exhaust fumes, espicially when it has a nice fruity aroma to it.

Man, I wish I could get 93 octane! N/A in CA. A few times, I 've put in a few gallons of 100 octane from the 76 station in Redwood City, then fill up with their 91 premium. That gives me probably 93-94 octane, assuming they mix fairly well in the tank. I probably raise a few eyebrows after I leave the station and zig-zag down the block like I'm in NASCAR wating for the pace car to pull off. The extra octane is nice once in a while, but my car is a DD, so mostly it's wasted sitting/cruising in traffic.

Always Shell V-power racing 99 octane RON .

Might add that the price pr liter in Norway is now at 2,3 USD (8,7 usd pr gallon)
