I currently get the dreaded light after about 200 miles of driving after it is reset. The code only shows bank 4-6. I hate that yellow light, and I would like for the CEL to indicate a more serious problem than SAI.
We going to modify my car next week, July 24, and see what happens. The fix will be very reversible if it does not work.

Far more likely the SAI Bypass modifies the signal from whatever sensor monitors the SAI system and fools the ECU into thinking it sees a functioning system. Same sort of thing people do when they remove the cats from an OBD-II car.

Is there damage being done to the engine if you drive around with a plugged SAI system even though the light is not on? I thought that plugged system would lead to worn valve guides, burning oil etc....
IF we are just turning off the CEL and ignoring the real problem aren't we setting ourselves up for a much BIGGER problem$$$???

From what I understand the SAI problem will not cause valve guide wear.....the system itself blows air through a tunnel to the exhaust port for the first 90 seconds of a cold start and then plays no further part in engine management or performance...so no, driving with blocked SAI system will not cause valve wear

Spoke with them today. Thanks for the link Adrienne!!!! They are now shooting for a mid September release. Their "do-hickey" attaches to the ECU. They are getting/fabbing plugs to allow us to plug and play. If I understand them you could get the "do-hickey" now...which would require splicing into the cable. I think I'll wait. ECU...is that the box under the drivers seat??
