Parking and reverse lights out
I just purchased a '96 Carerra Cab with <13K mi. on the clock. I've already increased the milage by 2%! Unfortunately as I was cruising home last night I was stopped by a State Trooper, who informed me that the rear parking lights were not operational. He gave me a warning, but made me drive home with the flashers running.
Once I got home, I discovered that front and rear parking lights are out, the reverse lights are out, and the headlight switch on the dash is out. Headlights, turn signals, fog lamps are all ok. I've read the posts related to the reverse switch on the gear shift lever, and it would be great if the problem were that simple. But could the reverse switch short also disable the other lights?

With regard to the reverse lights there is a switch on the transmission that went bad on my car and the lights were inoperative. I found that was what it was searching here on RL. My mechanic didn't believe me at first but after hunting down other possibilities he tried the switch and BINGO!
