Value of this C4?
Just looked at a '96 C4 coupe. Polar silver with black. 110K miles. Body has damage to front - scrape on hood small dent in fender. PPI showed CEL light was on for SAI, although light is now off. Oil use is not known. Leakdown not done. Interior is very good. Body is average, other than front damage. Car has new clutch. Flywheel was replaced at same time. Some service records from '96 to '01, nothing since then except current owner who has had it for 1 year. Seller is down is $ 23K. Worth it, or basket case?

1) The difference between the HP on a 95 vs 96-98 is so miniscule that is not even worth mentioning. The mid range torque is better on varioram cars, but tha's about it. Mine is a varioram and I have driven 95's as well to know this. Besides, You could chip a 95 and get the same hp as the 96-98.
2) Not to start a debate here on a horse that has been beaten to death. But most people would want a C2 vs a C4. I love 4 wheel drive (my daily driver is an Audi), but not on a sports car. So, being a C4, doesn't add any value, it may actually reduce value for some, it boils down to the buyers preference.
And lastly, you got to admit that if you put a big rear wing and a bunch of Porsche stickers all over on that ebay car, you could end up with a very nice looking one.

jfk308, can't really discount much for so-so paint at that mileage, but you've got to figure on a top-end and whatever the body damage costs to fix. That really pulls its value down into the high teens, IMO.
