Default 100,000 997's made!

Wow, didn't realized that they had made that many in just 2 years.

I can see some good deals on used 997's in a few years.

They may not be hand made, but "Gretchen" here sure looks better than "Agneta" that hand stitched my cabrio top for 12 hours.

I do like the 997. While I'd prefer something a little more 'race car' and less 'touring car', I could see myself in one some day.

Total Worldwide from 1994 thru 1998 : 49,216. Roughly 12,000 cars per year, or 1/4 of current production levels.

Total 993's imported to the U.S.: 24,041

We accounted for half of the 993's produced worldwide.

That's a huge difference in production numbers. I'm surprised but it makes me feel a little more special now. :-)

I read somewhere in Excellence that 1/4 of all Porsches world wide end up being sold in California?? If someone says US accounts for 1/2 of all world Porsches, I can believe that....

993 C2S P cars were shipped to the US in 1998. Coincidence?... I think not!
Must be cool to have the ninehundredandninetythird as your own.

It would be interesting (but impossible) to know how many 993's are still in use today. I'm sure a few have gone to the factory in the sky.

Antenna,

I guessing that Porsche is not too worried about their 'flooding' of the market of 997. More like "woo wee, look how many people want to buy our cars!"

there is something very hot about the way those women are holding the curves of that 997 with the smiles on their faces...while the other guy watches... ahem... oh...ahem...excuse me, sorry, was all of that out loud?
