scam victory motorcars
Heres the story David Maxwell calls me in reply to an ad I have on Craigslist for my 64 corvette. Tells me he wants to buy it. We make a deal. He tells me it is for him and he not a dealer. He says he has a friend he would like the car to go through turns out its victory motorcars in texas. Alright so I go for it. They say they will wire me the money the next day. No wire transfer just a lot of used car B.S. If you have a porsche for sale watch out for these guys. They cannot be trusted. The only job worse than a used car saleman is an IRS agent, and guess what, that is what I do for a living and will be paying Victory a visit in the very near future only because they really screwed me around so I will repay them the favor.

What I see what your doing is attempting to use your authority as an IRS employee and bringing that into your personal business. For example- If every car, home, and Ebay sale that was disappointing or someone go screwed, the IRS would be swamped.
Its better to chalk up the loss and move on rather than become a vigilante. It will cost you more time, effort, and time equals money. Not worth any of it because your deal falls through. Your not alone in the world of people backing out of car sales up until the last minute.

I'm in the process of selling (maybe) my 1996 C4S... I've received several phone calls and emails from so-called brokers and even some dealers, especially the one mentioned in this thread... They are really slick about the way they word things too... Plain and simply put, they all want to rip you off and make $10,000 profit or more on your car... I'll keep my P-car before I let that happen...
You want to get rid of guys like that - DON'T LET THEM HAVE YOUR CAR...
The other thing that really pisses me off is the number of so-called LOW-MILEAGE cars for sale... I recently saw a 1980 911 that claimed 5600 miles... Now come on... That's 207 miles A YEAR...
All I can say is: Caveat Emptor (Let the Buyer Beware)
Buy the way... Now when they call I let them know that I also do surveys for the phone company and ask them "Does this sound like I'm hanging up?" If I sound aggrevated, I am...

Can't imagine what these guys are telling a seller to get the seller to sell for less than what the seller wants for the car. Every time I've bought or sold, it comes down to the same thing- "Give me 'X' and I'll give you the title and the keys". How hard can that possibly be?
